For over 20 years, Ms. Andrews has been a second grade teacher at Rock Springs Elementary. Ms. Andrews has a unique teaching style and begins each day by leading her class through stretching exercises that prepare their minds and bodies for the day ahead. Inside the classroom Ms. Andrews creates lessons that are engaging and meaningful. She focuses not only on what her students need to know, but what interests them. Throughout the day she incorporates Universal Sign Language as she gives directions connecting words with hand signals that transcend the multiple languages of her students.
Not only is Ms. Andrews an excellent classroom teacher, she also hosts a bi-weekly physical fitness classes for staff. With the increased stress put upon educators this year, these Boot Camps allow teachers to focus on their own well-being as well. For this dedication to her Rock Springs community, Ms. Andrews was chosen as this year’s site certificated employee of the year! Congratulations Ms. Andrews!
