Our 2023 Classified Employee of the Year, Sylvia McKown, needs no introduction as she is one of the first faces to greet you when you visit Rock Springs Elementary. Sylvia strives to make families feel comfortable and builds trust with each of her Roadrunners as they pass through the office during their day. She is patient and understanding to parents and teachers as they call or visit the office.
Ms. Sylvia also has a deep commitment to the students of Rock Springs. She is always smiling and comforting as children come into the office. Often you can find her giving stickers to students who are helping a friend, or return to school after being absent. She wants all of her Roadrunners to feel welcome and included. We greatly appreciate all Sylvia does to support a positive culture for our staff and community.
