Good morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, October 10, 2012. The forecast is calling for cloudy skies today with a high of 72 degrees. There's also a chance for thunderstorms tomorrow.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from _________________ class to lead us with the pledge.

October 9th is officially, "National Angel Food Cake Day". Now you know what to have for dessert tonight.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1845, The United States Naval Academy opens in Annapolis, Maryland, with 50 midshipmen students and seven professors.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Humans share 60% of DNA with a banana.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The word of the week is Responsibility, our third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green:
Responsibility takes the Pursuit of Excellence. The pursuit of excellence has an ethical dimension when others rely upon our knowledge, ability or willingness to perform tasks safely and effectively. It takes diligence, perseverance and continuous improvement.
According to Calvin Coolidge, 30th U.S. president, "We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
