Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 155 of school on this Wednesday, May 4, 2016. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with high of about 72 degrees.

This morning we have Kindergarten to lead us with the pledge.

Today is...
Intergalactic Star Wars Day (May the Fourth Be With You!)

On this Day in History
On this day in 1776, Rhode Island, the colony founded by the most radical religious dissenters from the Puritans of Massachusetts Bay Colony, becomes the first North American colony to renounce its allegiance to King George III. Ironically, Rhode Island would be the last state to ratify the new American Constitution more than 14 years later on May 29, 1790.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today
The oldest chocolate ever found was inside a 2,600-year-old- pot in Belize.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School
The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the color yellow or gold. When you think about respect, think “The Golden Rule”.

The Golden Rule — do unto others as you would have them do unto you — nicely illustrates the Pillar of respect. Respect prohibits violence, humiliation, manipulation and exploitation. It reflects notions such as civility, courtesy, decency, dignity, autonomy, tolerance and acceptance.

According to an African-American proverb, "The price of your hat isn’t the measure of your brain."

Book Fair is on for the next two weeks.

CAASPP Testing
CAASPP testing continues today. Testing today are Ms. J. Isherwood, Mr. Hernandez, and Ms. Roberts.

Safety First!
  • Remember to use the crosswalk.
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
