Announcements:

History

On this day in 1929, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hands out its first awards, at a dinner party for around 250 people held in the Blossom Room of the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California. This ceremony was the birth of the Academy Awards.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

If you fully stretch your arms out, the fingertip to fingertip length is almost exactly your body height.

It’s always  the Season of Nonviolence at Rock Springs School - The Word of the Day is Patience

According to Caesar Chavez, “Nonviolence is not inaction ... It is hard work ... It is the patience to win.” When your plans seemed delayed, choose to be patient by identifying at least three ways that you can constructively use this time to support your goal.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
