Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, May 15, 2013. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of around 72 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Ms. S. Isherwood's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Werner's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially National Chocolate Chip Day.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1804, one year after the United States doubled its territory with the Louisiana Purchase, the Lewis and Clark expedition leaves St. Louis, Missouri, on a mission to explore the Northwest from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

A shark can live for six weeks without eating.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, our fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange. When you think about fairness, think of dividing an orange into equal sections to share fairly with friends.

A fair person thoroughly employs open and impartial processes for gathering and evaluating information necessary to make decisions. Fair people do not wait for the truth to come to them; they seek out relevant information and conflicting perspectives before making important judgments.

According to Laura Ingalls Wilder, author, "Persons appear to us according to the light we throw upon them from our own minds."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
