Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, May 1, 2013. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of around 73 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Horstman's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Mallinger's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially National Bubba Day!

On this Day in History:

On April 30, 1963, James Whittaker of Redmond, Washington, becomes the first American to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain in the world.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

More men are color blind than women.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the color yellow. Think "The Golden Rule".
Respect is an important way of being kind and good to other people. Respect means not making fun of others. Respect means thinking of how somebody else feels. Respect is treating another person the same way you’d want to be treated yourself!

According to Ralph Waldo Emerson, American essayist, lecturer, and poet, “ He who knows what sweets and virtues are in the ground, the waters, the plants, the heavens, and how to come at these enchantments, is the rich and royal man.”

CST testing continues today. You are all capable and well-prepared, just do your best. Take a deep breath, relax, and show what you know!

Teachers, also remember that all electronic devices must be off during testing. This includes classroom computers, teacher laptops, iPods, and cell phones. Also, students that arrive after 8:30 will not come to your classroom until after testing is complete. They will go to the library.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
