Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, March 6, 2013. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 58 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Ms. Roberts / Ms. Martinez's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Riley's class for the pledge.

On this Day in History:

Michelangelo Buonarroti, the greatest of the Italian Renaissance artists, is born in the small village of Caprese on March 6, 1475.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Yawn are contagious for chimpanzees, just as they are for humans.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the colors yellow or gold. Remember to think "the Golden Rule".

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Gratitude
On her show Oprah Winfrey frequently promoted the daily practice of gratitude. Begin the day by listing five things for which you are grateful and end it by sharing with one person all of the good things that happened to you today.
According to a Vietnamese saying, "When eating a fruit, think of the person who planted the tree."

Once again, we would like to remind students about our before school procedures. There are not any supervisors on duty until 7:30. If you arrive before 7:30, you are to sit at the tables. You should not be running around, standing on tables, or doing any other activity. For your safety, you must stay seated at the table.

PTA 80's Flashback Dance:

Break out the leg warmers, parachute pants, and Member's Only jackets! Friday is the PTA 80's Flashback Dance. Come on out to Funkytown and dance like a Maniac, party like it's 1999, and be a little Footloose!

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
