Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, March 20, 2013. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and high of around 69 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. McDowell's class to lead us with the pledge.

After break we will be joined by Mrs. Sylliaasen's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially the Vernal Equinox, also known as the first day of Spring!

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1852, Harriet Beecher Stowe's anti-slavery novel, Uncle Tom's Cabin, is published. The novel sold 300,000 copies within three months and was so widely read that when President Abraham Lincoln met Stowe in 1862, he reportedly said, "So this is the little lady who made this big war."

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Frogs eat their skin after they shed it.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, our fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the orange. Remember to think of dividing an orange into equal sections to share fairly with friends.

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Generosity
Mother Teresa said, “There is a hidden poverty more pervasive than lack of money. It is the poverty of the heart.” Find three ways to generously give of your time, attention and resources to others.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
