Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, June 5, 2013. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 72 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Glaze's class to lead us with the pledge.

Today is...

Officially Apple II Day.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1956, Elvis Presley appears on The Milton Berle show and gives his famous performance of "Hound Dog."

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Dolphins may be smarter than chimpanzees.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

It's Pillars of Character Week at RSU! Are you a TRRFCC (terrific) student? If you are, then you are demonstrating the Six Pillars of Character.
Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

All year we've been talking about the Pillars of Character. During our last few days of school I challenge you to do something each day that demonstrates the Pillar of the Day. The Pillar for today is Responsibility, our third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green. When you think about  responsibility, think about being responsible for a green garden.

According to John D. Rockefeller, Jr., entrepreneur, "Every right implies a responsibility, every opportunity an obligation, every possession a duty."

From Mrs. Stump; Let's get those library books turned in. We still have many student that have not turned in their library books. Remember that the third Pillar of Character is Responsibility.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
