Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, January 23, 2013. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies becoming cloudy with a high of around 78 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Reynoso's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Andrew's class for the pledge.

January 23rd is officially, "National Handwriting Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1849, Elizabeth Blackwell is granted a medical degree from Geneva College in New York, becoming the first female to be officially recognized as a physician in U.S. history.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Honey does not spoil.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Respect, the second Pillar of Character, represented by the color yellow or gold:
People are not things, and everyone has a right to be treated with dignity. We certainly have no ethical duty to hold all people in high esteem, but we should treat everyone with respect, regardless of who they are and what they have done. We have a responsibility to be the best we can be in all situations, even when dealing with unpleasant people.
When you think of Respect, think of "The Golden Rule".
According to William Hazlitt, English essayist and literary critic, "Prejudice is the child of ignorance."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
