Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 99 of school on this Wednesday, February 8, 2017. The forecast calls for a partly cloudy skies with high of about 76 degrees.

This morning we have a group of College Bound Roadrunners from Ms. Eagleton's class to lead us with the pledge.

Today is...
Girl Scout Cookie Day

On this Day in History
On this day in 1955, John Grisham, the best-selling author known for his legal thrillers, is born in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Grishams books have sold over 250 million copies worldwide, and over half a dozen of his novels have been turned into films.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today
Honey does not spoil.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School
The Pillar of the Week is Responsibility, our third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green. When you think about  responsibility, think about being responsible for a green garden.

Ethical people show responsibility by being accountable. An accountable person is not a victim and doesn’t shift blame or claim credit for the work of others. He considers the likely consequences of his behavior and associations. He recognizes the common complicity in the triumph of evil when nothing is done to stop it. He leads by example.

According to Booker T. Washington, American educator, "Any mans life will be filled with constant and unexpected encouragement if he makes up his mind to do his level best each day."

Talent Show
The last day to turn in applications is Today! If you have already turned in your application, be sure to practice! If possible, get your music to Mrs. Zacharias before Friday's auditions - on a CD or with a link to YouTube.

Clarinets Rock!
Cancelled today. Mr. Plunkett has a meeting (sad face).

Safety First!
  • Remember to use the crosswalk.
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!"
