Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, February 6, 2013. The forecast calls for cloudy skies this morning becoming mostly sunny with a high of around 62 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Ms. Peters class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Laquindanum's class for the pledge.

February 6th is officially, "Lame Duck Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1911, Former President, Ronald Reagan was born. As the 40th president of the United States, the former movie star was called the “Great Communicator” for his ability to get through to ordinary Americans and give them hope and optimism for their own future and that of their country.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Crocodiles swallow stones to help them dive deeper.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, the fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color Orange.

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Smiling
Buddhist teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh said, “If in our daily life, we can smile....not only we, but everyone will profit from it. This is the most basic kind of peace work.” Today, share a smile with at least three people, knowing that your smile contributes to peace.

Math Field Day
This Saturday, the a talented group RSU Mathematicians will be competing in the EUSD Math Field Day at Mission Middle School. Thanks to this group hard-working group of Roadrunners and their fearless leader, Mr. Horstman!

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
