Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, February 20, 2013. The forecast calls for cloudy skies with a chance of rain showers high of around 48 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Fridell and Mrs. Schmottlach's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Conner and Mrs. Dias' class for the pledge.

February 20th is officially, "Love Your Pet Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1792, President George Washington signs legislation renewing the United States Post Office as a cabinet department led by the postmaster general, guaranteeing inexpensive delivery of all newspapers, stipulating the right to privacy and granting Congress the ability to expand postal service to new areas of the nation.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Every zebra's stripe pattern is different.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Citizenship, the sixth Pillar of Character, represented by the color Purple.

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Education
Knowledge strengthens your conviction and deepens your wisdom and understanding. Learn about the power of nonviolence by educating yourself. Read an article, periodical or book; watch a video on a subject that relates to nonviolence. Learn about human rights, diversity, ecology, history, politics, forgiveness, spirituality, peace studies, biographies of heroes and more.

Read Across America Week

Next week is Read Across America Week. We will be celebrating the love of reading all next week at RSU.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
