Today is Wednesday, February 13, 2013. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of around 64 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Laquindanum's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Fridell and Mrs. Schmottlach's class for the pledge.

February 13th is officially, "Get a Different Name Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1776, Patrick Henry becomes colonel of the First Virginia battalion in defense of the state's supply of gunpowder.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Dirty snow melts faster than clean snow.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Caring, the fifth Pillar of Character, represented by the color Red.

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Believing
Author Wayne Dyer writes about the impact that our beliefs have on our daily lives. Today believe that you have all the resources to move your life in the direction of peace. Be aware of simple, peaceful responses you receive.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
