Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 72 of school on this Wednesday, December 14, 2016. The forecast calls for party cloudy skies today with high of about 74 degrees.

This morning we have a group of College Bound Roadrunners from Ms. May's. to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mr. Horstman's 5th grade.

Today is...
Monkey Day

On this Day in History
On this day in 1911, Norwegian Roald Amundsen becomes the first explorer to reach the South Pole, beating his British rival, Robert Falcon Scott.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today
Dolphins and whales are mammals that don't drink water.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School
The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, our fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange. When you think about fairness, think of dividing an orange into equal sections to share fairly with friends.

A fair person thoroughly employs open and impartial processes for gathering and evaluating information necessary to make decisions. Fair people do not wait for the truth to come to them; they seek out relevant information and conflicting perspectives before making important judgments.

According to a Dutch proverb, "A person who cheats at play will cheat you any way."

Book Fair
  • Book fair is open every morning at 7:30
  • Must have a parent and a pass and money to spend
  • Open all day for classes
  • Open during the Winter festival

Winter Festival
The PTA Winter Festival is next Monday, 12/19 from 5pm-7pm.

Safety First!
  • Remember to use the crosswalk.
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!"
