Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, December 12, 2012. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 66 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Horstman's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Zacharias' first grade for the pledge.

December 12th is officially, "Poinsettia Day". It's also "National Ding-A-Ling Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1787, Pennsylvania becomes the second state to ratify the Constitution, by a vote of 46 to 23. Pennsylvania was the first large state to ratify.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

You lose up to 100 hairs a day.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, the fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange:
Are you a fair person? Ask yourself a few of questions. Do I treat other people the way I want to be treated? Am I open-minded and reasonable? Do I consider the feelings of all people who will be affected by my actions and decisions? If you can honestly answer yes to these questions, then you are upholding the pillar of Fairness.
According to Potter Stewart, Supreme Court Justice, “Fairness is what justice really is.”

The Can-Do Food drive is underway. We currently have 327 cans. 673 cans to go to reach our goal of 1,000. Bring in those cans of food and other non-perishable items to help those in need!

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
