Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, August 21, 2013. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of around 85 degrees.

This morning I have a group of college bound Roadrunners from Safety Patrol.

Pledge:

Announcements:

Today is...

Poet's Day!

On this Day in History:

The modern United States receives its crowning star when President Dwight D. Eisenhower signs a proclamation admitting Hawaii into the Union as the 50th state. The president also issued an order for an American flag featuring 50 stars arranged in staggered rows: five six-star rows and four five-star rows. The new flag became official July 4, 1960.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The human eye can distinguish as many as 10 million distinct color variations.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

Everyone at Rock Springs is terrific. Do you remember what terrific, T-R-R-F-C-C stands for? Terrific is our acronym for Character Counts. Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. Let's all be terrific today.

According to Albert Einstein, Swiss-American mathematician, physicist and public philosopher,”Most people say that it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character."

A couple of reminders for all of our Roadrunners about campus safety as we start back this year. Please remember to walk when traveling through campus. That means, walk and don't run. Also remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
Your teachers will be discussing playground safety with you before you go to recess and lunch. We want everyone to be sure and remember to play safe and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
When you arrive at school in the morning, remember to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you  may get up.
And lastly, at the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for you ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
