Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, April 10, 2013. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of around 77 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Sylliaasen's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. McWilliams' class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially the Safety Pin Day!

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1866, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is founded in New York City by philanthropist and diplomat Henry Bergh.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Bananas are actually giant herbs - related to the orchid family.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Caring, our fifth Pillar of Character, represented by the color red. When you think about caring, remember to think of a heart.
Refuse to Argue and Pick Your Battles.
Arguments are a constant source of relationship strife, even amongst family members or friends. You may say, “How can I just stop arguing?” Easy, because engaging in a conversation with another person is a choice we make. Make a conscious effort to note when you’re entering into an argument, and then just stop. Remember, not every argument is worth engaging in — so don’t feel like you have to get into an argument just because someone else is asking for one. “Sorry, I can’t talk about this right now, let’s talk more about this later…” or “You’re right, I’m wrong, I’m sorry” will put a sudden halt to the argument.
According to Louisa May Alcott, American writer, "Many argue; not many converse."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
