Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Wednesday, December 5, 2012. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 73 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from _________________ class to lead us with the pledge.

December 5th is officially, "Day of the Ninja".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1839, Union General George Armstrong Custer is born in Harrison County, Ohio. Although he is best known for his demise at the hands of the Lakota and Cheyenne Indians at the Battle of the Little Big Horn, Montana, in 1876, Custer built a reputation as a dashing and effective cavalry leader during the Civil War.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The deepest location on Earth is Mariana Trench, about 7 miles deep in the North Pacific ocean.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Responsibility, the third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green:
Responsibility means understanding that work isn’t unusual, unfair, or unsatisfying. Work is part of life and can be gratifying. Yes, work can be challenging, dirty, time-consuming, and boring. But it can also feel good to get those challenging, dirty, time-consuming and boring things done and done well. Responsible people show pride in their work, and value doing it carefully. People who have a positive attitude toward their work tend to be happier and healthier.
According to Booker T. Washington, American educator, “ Any mans life will be filled with constant and unexpected encouragement if he makes up his mind to do his level best each day.”

The Can-Do Food drive starts next week. Bring in those cans of food and other non-perishable items to help those in need!

I won't be here tomorrow, so I want to remind you about RSU Friday today! Be show your school spirit on Friday by wearing School colors.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
