Good morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Frog-Spit Friday, September 7, 2012. The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 85 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. McDowell's class to lead us with the pledge.

On this Day in History:

In 1813, the United States gets its nickname, Uncle Sam. The name is linked to Samuel Wilson, a meat packer from Troy, New York, who supplied barrels of beef to the United States Army during the War of 1812. Wilson (1766-1854) stamped the barrels with "U.S." for United States, but soldiers began referring to the grub as "Uncle Sam's."

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The nerves in our body are most concentrated in our fingertips.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
