Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 12 of school on this Tuesday, September 1, 2015. The forecast calls for sunny skies, with high of about 84 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning we have a group of college bound Roadrunners from Mrs. Zacharias' class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week, we will be joined by Mrs. Werner's class to lead us in the pledge.

Announcements:

Today is...
National No Rhyme (Nor Reason) Day

On this Day in History:
On this day in 1981, MTV: Music Television goes on the air for the first time ever, with the words (spoken by one of MTV’s creators, John Lack): “Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll.” The Buggles’ “Video Killed the Radio Star” was the first music video to air on the new cable television channel.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
The human body contains about 6,000 miles of blood vessels.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
The Pillar of the Week is Trustworthiness, our first Pillar of Character, represented by the color blue. When you think about trustworthiness, think “true blue"".

When others trust us, they give us greater leeway because they feel we don’t need monitoring to assure that we’ll meet our obligations. They believe in us and hold us in higher esteem. That’s satisfying. At the same time, we must constantly live up to the expectations of others and refrain from even small lies or self-serving behavior that can quickly destroy our relationships.

According to Pope John Paul II (Karol Wojtyla), religious leader, "The truth is not always the same as the majority decision."

MAP Testing:
Continues on today! Testing today will be Mr. Hernandez, Mrs. Sylliaasen, Mrs. Roberts, and Ms. McDowell.

Safety First!
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!
