Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 49 of school on this Tuesday, October 27, 2015. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, with high of about 86 degrees.

This morning we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Horstman's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Ms. Reynoso's class for the pledge.

Today is...
Cranky Co-workers Day

On this Day in History:
Theodore Roosevelt, the future 26th president of the United States, is born in New York City. A dynamic and energetic politician, Theodore Roosevelt is credited with creating the modern presidency.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
When you blush, your stomach lining also reddens.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
The Pillar of the Week is Trustworthiness, our first Pillar of Character, represented by the color blue. When you think about trustworthiness, think "true blue".

When others trust us, they give us greater leeway because they feel we Don't need monitoring to assure that we'll meet our obligations. They believe in us and hold us in higher esteem. That's satisfying. At the same time, we must constantly live up to the expectations of others and refrain from even small lies or self-serving behavior that can quickly destroy our relationships.

According to Donald T. Regan, American business executive, Treasury Secretary, chief of staff for President Ronald Reagan, "When all else fails, tell the truth."

Red Ribbon Week
  • Tuesday = Door decorating contest begins
  • Wednesday = Wear Red Day
  • Thursday = "Turn Your Back on Drugs" Day - wear backwards clothing.
  • Friday = Halloween parade.

Safety First!
  • Kadama's are not allowed at school.
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!"
