Good morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Tuesday, October 23, 2012. The forecast is calling mostly cloudy skies this morning, but it should clear with a high of around 68 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from _________________ class to lead us with the pledge.

October 23 is officially, "National Mole Day". No, it's not the kind on someones face, nor is it the animal that lives in the ground. It's actually a day to celebrate the scientific unit of measure.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1942, one of my favorite authors, Michael Crichton is born. He is probably best known for his book, Jurassic Park, which was later made into a movie.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

A neutron star is the strongest magnet in the universe.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The word of the week is Caring, our fifth Pillar of Character, represented by the color red:
Caring is the heart of ethics, and ethical decision-making. It is scarcely possible to be truly ethical and yet unconcerned with the welfare of others. That is because ethics is ultimately about good relations with other people.
According to a The Dalai Lama, Tibetan religious leader, "Our prime purpose in life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
