Good morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Tuesday, October 16, 2012. It's going to be warm this week. The forecast is calling mostly sunny skies and a with a high of 88 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from _________________ class to lead us with the pledge.

October 16 is officially, "National Bosses Day". Today is the day that employees recognize their great boss. For us, that would be Mrs. Frank!

On this Day in History:

On this day in in 1758, Noah Webster, Jr., was born. If his name sounds familiar, it should, his name became synonymous with "dictionary," especially the modern Merriam-Webster dictionary that was first published in 1828 as An American Dictionary of the English Language.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The sky is blue because when sunlight collides with our atmosphere, colours of the shortest wavelengths (violet and blue) are scattered - and our eyes are more sensitive to see blue.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The word of the week is Fairness, our fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange:
Fair people do not wait for the truth to come to them; they seek out relevant information and conflicting perspectives before making important judgments.
According to a German proverb, "To blame is easy; to do it better is difficult."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
