Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Tuesday, January 29, 2013. The forecast calls for clear skies with a high of around 59 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Andrew's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Ms. Peter's class for the pledge.

January 29th is officially, "National Puzzle Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1861, Kansas is admitted to the Union as free state. It was the 34th state to join the Union. The struggle between pro- and anti-slave forces in Kansas was a major factor in the eruption of the Civil War.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The average person has over 1,460 dreams a year.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Responsibility, the third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green:
Life is full of choices. Being responsible means being in charge of our choices and, thus, our lives. It means being accountable for what we do and who we are. It also means recognizing that our actions matter and we are morally on the hook for the consequences.
According to Booker T. Washington, American educator, "Any mans life will be filled with constant and unexpected encouragement if he makes up his mind to do his level best each day."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
