Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 77 of school on this Tuesday, December 16, 2014. The forecast calls for rain showers today with a high of about 61 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning I have a group of college bound Road-Runners from Ms. S. Isherwood's class to lead us in the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Werner's class.

Announcements:

Today is...
National Chocolate-covered Anything Day

On this Day in History:
On this day in 1773, a group of Massachusetts colonists disguised as Mohawk Indians board three British tea ships moored in Boston Harbor and dump 342 chests of tea into the water. Becoming known as the Boston Tea Party.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
It's Pillars of Character Week at RSU!

This week's challenge is to catch other students showing good character. When a teacher catches you showing good character, they often give you a Character Counts Card. Why not make your own Character Card that you could give to fellow students so that they can remember the Pillar that you saw them demonstrate?

According to Lao-Tzu, Chinese philosopher, "When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everybody will respect you."

Can-Do Food Drive
The annual Rock Springs Can-Do is here! The food drive will run from December 8th-December 18th. Our goal is 1,000 cans! Our current count is 750.

Talent Show
For anyone planning to audition for the Talent Show, even if you're still just thinking about it, please meet Mrs. Zacharias in the MPR this Thursday after school for a short meeting from 1:05-1:15.

Running Club
Cancelled for today

Safety First!
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Remember to play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, remember to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.
This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
