Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Tuesday, December 11, 2012. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of around 73 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Horstman's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Zacharias' first grade for the pledge.

December 11th is officially, "National Noodle Ring Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1946, UNICEF was founded. In the aftermath of World War II, the General Assembly of the United Nations votes to establish the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), an organization to help provide relief and support to children living in countries devastated by the war.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The Atlantic Ocean grows at about the same rate as your fingernails.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, the fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange:
Are you a fair person? Ask yourself a few of questions. What is "fairness?" What makes a person fair? How do you know when something is unfair? Before judging something to be unfair, be sure to think about the answers to these questions.
According to Wes Fessler, American writer, “ Fairness is man’s ability rise above his prejudices.”

The Can-Do Food drive is underway. We currently have 206 cans. 794 cans to go to reach our goal of 1,000. Bring in those cans of food and other non-perishable items to help those in need!

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
