Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Tuesday, August 20, 2013. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of around 84 degrees.

This morning I have a group of college bound Roadrunners from Safety Patrol.

Today is...

National Radio Day!

On this Day in History:

In 1911, a dispatcher in the New York Times office sends the first telegram around the world via commercial service. Exactly 66 years later, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) sends a different kind of message--a phonograph record containing information about Earth for extraterrestrial beings--shooting into space aboard the unmanned spacecraft Voyager II.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The world's smallest rodent is Pygmy Jerboa - measuring only a couple of inches in length - and can run as fast as a horse.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

At Rock Springs School we are terrific because we follow The Six Pillars of Character. The pillars are; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

According to an Unknown author,”Character is what you are in the dark."

A couple of reminders for all of our Roadrunners about campus safety as we start back this year. Please remember to walk when traveling through campus. That means, walk and don't run. Also remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
Your teachers will be discussing playground safety with you before you go to recess and lunch. We want everyone to be sure and remember to play safe and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
When you arrive at school in the morning, remember to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you  may get up.
And lastly, at the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for you ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
