Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Tuesday, April 9, 2013. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of around 70 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Sylliaasen's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. McWilliams' class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially the Winston Churchill Day!

On this Day in History:

On April 9, 1865, At Appomattox, Virginia, Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrenders his 28,000 troops to Union General Ulysses S. Grant, effectively ending the American Civil War.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Honeybees have remained unchanged in form or structure for 20 million years.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Caring, our fifth Pillar of Character, represented by the color red. When you think about caring, remember to think of a heart.
Do It, Don’t Say It.
You know the saying, “Actions speak louder than words”? Well, it’s true. While you can apologize for not doing something until you’re blue in the face, you’ll gain so much more appreciation by another in your life by simply doing it in the first place. Yes, it means you have to work harder to keep on top of things to begin with, even with simple things like taking out the trash or running that errand you said you would. But the reward is that others will know you care because you just did it without being asked or reminded to do so.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
