Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 134 of school on this Tuesday, April 5, 2016. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high of about 80 degrees.

This morning we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Boyne's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we'll be joined by a surprise group class.

Today is...
Caramel Day

On this Day in History
Pocahontas, daughter of the chief of the Powhatan Indian confederacy, marries English tobacco planter John Rolfe in Jamestown, Virginia. The marriage ensured peace between the Jamestown settlers and the Powhatan Indians for several years.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School
The Pillar of the Week is Caring, our fifth Pillar of Character, represented by the color red. When you think about caring, think of a red heart.

Do It, Don't Say It.

You know that old common wisdom, actions speak louder than words? Well, its true. While you can apologize for not doing something until you're blue in the face, you'll gain so much more appreciation by simply doing it in the first place. Yes, it means you have to work harder to keep on top of things to begin with, but the reward is that people will know you care because you just did it without being asked or reminded to do so.

According to Albert Einstein, German-born physicist, philosopher, "The world is not dangerous because of those who do harm, but because of those who look at it without doing anything."

4th Grade Week

CAASPP Testing
CAASPP testing resumes this week. Testing today are Mrs. May, Mr. Baier, Mrs. Zacharias and Mr. Plunkett classes. Testing tomorrow will be Mrs. Zacharias and Mr. Plunkett. Remember to get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and do your best.

Safety First!
  • The playground swings are off limits and will remain off limits until further notice.
  • Remember to use the crosswalk.
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!"
