Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 18 of school on this Thursday, September 10, 2015. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, 40% chance of thunderstorms, with high of about 100 degrees.

This morning we have a group of college bound Roadrunners from Mrs. Werner's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week, we will be joined by Ms. Peters class to lead us in the pledge.

Today is...
Swap Ideas Day

On this Day in History:
On this day in 1608, English adventurer John Smith is elected council president of Jamestown, Virginia--the first permanent English settlement in North America. Smith, a colorful figure, had won popularity in the colony because of his organizational abilities and effectiveness in dealing with local Native American groups.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
The largest frog in the world is The Goliath Frog of Gabon in West Africa and can grow as big as 13 inches long and can weigh up to 6 1/2 pounds.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the color yellow or gold. When you think about respect, think “The Golden Rule”.

A respectful person is an attentive listener, treats others with consideration, and doesn’t resort to intimidation. A respectful person also accepts individual differences and beliefs without prejudice and judges others only on their character, abilities and conduct.

MAP Testing:
Continues on today! Testing today will be Ms. Logan.

Safety First!
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.
RSU Friday
Tomorrow is RSU Friday, however, there will not be a morning assembly. Instead, we are proclaiming tomorrow to be Charger Day! Wear your Charger fan gear to school.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!
