Good morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Monday, September 10, 2012. The forecast calls for a slight chance of thunderstorms and a high of 88 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from __________ class to lead us with the pledge.

On this Day in History:

English adventurer John Smith is elected council president of Jamestown, Virginia--the first permanent English settlement in North America. Smith, a colorful figure, had won popularity in the colony because of his organizational abilities and effectiveness in dealing with local Native American groups.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Hummingbirds are the only animals able to fly backwards.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

Last week we talked about each of the 6 Pillars of Character; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. To build upon our understanding, we will add a color scheme to each pillar starting tomorrow.
According to Thomas Edison, American inventor, "What a man’s mind can create, man’s character can control."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
