Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 50 of school on this Thursday, October 30, 2014. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies today with a high of about 84 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning I have a group of college bound Road-Runners from Mrs. Andrew's class to lead us in the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Kindergarten classes.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
The right lung takes in more air than the left.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Trustworthiness, our first Pillar of Character, represented by the color blue. When you think about trustworthiness, "true blue".

Reliability and loyalty are qualities of a trustworthy person. A trustworthy person is loyal to their family, friends, and beliefs. They can also be relied upon to keep their promises.

According to a Jewish proverb, "What you don't see with your eyes, don't witness with your mouth."

Library:

This week is 4th grade week in the library.

What's a skeleton's favorite instrument? A Trom-Bone!

Spirit Week:

  • Today = Crazy Hair Day
  • Friday = Halloween Costume Day/Parade
    • Costumes need to be appropriate for school
    • No weapons (real or fake)
    • Easy on the make-up
    • Costumes may be worn all day
    • Masks may be worn for the parade only
Red Ribbon Week:
After the Halloween parade tomorrow, classes will be touring the campus to see the door decorations.

Teachers:
Today is a Staff Meeting Thursday. We will meet in room 56 at 2:30.  Please bring your laptops and your current ELD unit. Grade-level Leads, be sure you have checked your email regarding Data Teams that I sent out yesterday in preparation for today's meeting.

Safety First!
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Remember to play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, remember to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
