Today is Thursday, November 8, 2012. The forecast for today is calling mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers, and a high around 65 degrees.
This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from _________________ class to lead us with the pledge.
November 8th is officially, "Cook Something Bold Day".
On this day in 1895, physicist Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen (1845-1923) becomes the first person to observe X-rays, a significant scientific advancement that would ultimately benefit a variety of fields, most of all medicine, by making the invisible visible. Rontgen's discovery occurred by accident.
Fish are the only vertebrates that outnumber birds.
The Pillar of the Week is Citizenship, our fifth Pillar of Character, represented by the color purple:
Good citizenship relates to the type of one's actions such as actions that remind us of our heritage or involve us in the democratic process.
As Aristotle, the ancient Greek philosopher, said “It’s not always the same thing to be a good man and a good citizen.”
Don't forget about our fundraiser. Orders due November 15th. Mr. Bones, the Fundraising Dog will be visiting X classroom.
Tomorrow is RSU Friday. Be sure to wear your RSU colors and show pride in our great school. As long as we don't have rain, we will begin the day with our morning assembly. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Students, please remember that paper airplanes are not to be made and flown on school grounds. The only exception to this ruling is if it is a classroom activity supervised by your teacher. Lately, our campus has become littered with discarded paper airplane. Please be a good citizen of RSU and help keep our campus clean.
This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
