Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 64 of school on this Thursday, November 20, 2014. The forecast calls for sunny skies today with a high of about 71 degrees.

This morning I have a group of college bound Road-Runners from Mr. Horstman's classes to lead us in the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Boyne classes.

Happy Birthday
Ms. Almario!

Today is...
National Peanut Butter Fudge Day

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1789, New Jersey ratifies the Bill of Rights, becoming the first state to do so. New Jersey's action was a first step toward making the first 10 amendments to the Constitution law and completing the revolutionary reforms begun by the Declaration of Independence.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
The Stegosaurus dinosaur measured up to 30 ft long but had a brain the size of a walnut.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, our fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange. When you think about fairness, think of dividing an orange into equal sections to share fairly with friends.

Fair people are impartial. They make decisions without favoritism or prejudice. They also honor equity. They correct mistakes, promptly and voluntarily and realize it is improper to take advantage of the weakness or ignorance of others.

According to Bill Clinton, 42nd U.S. president, "In our hearts and in our laws, we must treat all our people with fairness and dignity, regardless of their race, religion, or gender.

Can-Do Food Drive
The annual Rock Springs Can-Do food drive is coming. The food drive will run from December 8th-December 18th. Our goal is 1,000 cans!

Safety First!
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Remember to play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, remember to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.
This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
