Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, May 9, 2013.

The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 66 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Mallinger's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Ms. S. Isherwood's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially School Nurse Day!

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson issues a presidential proclamation that officially establishes the first national Mother's Day holiday to celebrate America's mothers.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Male woodchucks are called He-Chucks and females are called She-Chucks.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Responsibility, our third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green. When you think about  responsibility, think about being responsible for a green garden.

Responsible people are active in the pursuit of excellence. They are diligent and they persevere avoiding excuses.

Responsible people exercise self-control. They realize they are as they choose to be, every day.

According to Hamilton Wright Mabee, American essayist, "The question for each man to settle is not what he would do if he had the means, time, influence and educational advantages, but what he will do with the things he has."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,

“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
