Next week, Mrs. Andrews class will be leading us in the pledge.
No Socks Day
On this Day in History:
On this day in 1884, Harry S. Truman is born in Lamar, Missouri. The son of a farmer, Truman could not afford to go to college. He joined the army at the relatively advanced age of 33 in 1916 to fight in World War I. After the war, he opened a haberdashery in Kansas City, and in 1922, he entered Missouri politics.
Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
Red Diamonds are some of the rarest stones in the world.
Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the color yellow or gold. When you think about respect, think "The Golden Rule".
A respectful person is an attentive listener, treats others with consideration, and doesn't resort to intimidation. A respectful person also accepts individual differences and beliefs without prejudice and judges others only on their character, abilities and conduct.
According to Jackie Robinson, first Major League African-American baseball player, "I'm not concerned with your liking or disliking me... All I ask is that you respect me as a human being."
The Book Fair is winding down. Tomorrow is the last day to purchase books. The Book Fair will be closed at noon both days.
Tomorrow is RSU Friday. Be sure to show your school spirit by wearing your Rock Springs colors.
This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
