Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, May 30, 2013. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 76 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Goulart's class to lead us with the pledge.

Announcements:

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Glaze's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially Loomis Day.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1911, Ray Harroun drives his single-seater Marmon Wasp to victory in the inaugural Indianapolis 500, now one of the world's most famous motor racing competitions.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Mantis shrimp can see colors better than humans can.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Citizenship, our sixth Pillar of Character, represented by the color purple. When you think about citizenship, think regal purple as representing the state.

One is an effective citizen by doing things that:
• Remind us of our heritage
• Involve us in the democratic process
• Support individuals with a special responsibility for keeping the country strong
• Help us better understand the workings of our government
• Promote a sense of community
• Keep individuals and families strong

According to am American proverb, "If you don't believe in working together, watch what happens to a wagon when one wheel comes off."

A message from Mrs. Stump:
Students, be sure to get your library books turned in. There are still 110 students with multiple OVERDUE books. Also, MUSIC Instruments need to be returned ASAP.

Tomorrow is RSU Friday. Be sure to wear your Rock Springs colors to show your school spirit and join us in the Character Counts Quad for our Friday morning spirit assembly.
Also, don't forget that tomorrow night is Rock Springs Night at Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza from 3:00-9:00.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
