Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, May 23, 2013. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of around 68 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Werner's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Goulart's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially National Taffy Day.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1911, in a ceremony presided over by President William Howard Taft, the New York Public Library, the largest marble structure ever constructed in the United States, is dedicated in New York City.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Warthogs don’t have warts.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, our fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange. When you think about fairness, think of dividing an orange into equal sections to share fairly with friends.

Fair people are impartial. They make decisions without favoritism or prejudice. They also honor equity. They correct mistakes, promptly and voluntarily an realize it is improper to take advantage of the weakness or ignorance of others.

According to Rick Riordan, author, "Fairness does not mean everyone gets the same. Fairness means everyone gets what they need."

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
