Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, May 2, 2013. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of around 91 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Horstman's class to lead us with the pledge.

Announcements:

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Mallinger's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially Roberts Rule of Order Day!

On this Day in History:

Although accounts of an aquatic beast living in Scotland's Loch Ness date back 1,500 years, the modern legend of the Loch Ness Monster is born on this date when a sighting makes local news on May 2, 1933.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Some sea stars break off their own arms when frightened.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the color yellow. Think "The Golden Rule".
There are lots of easy ways to show respect! You show respect when you are polite, saying things like “please” and “thank you.” You show respect by appreciating people’s differences, by not making people feel uncomfortable, or by lending a helping hand!
According to Jesse Jackson, American political activist and preacher, “Never look down on anybody unless you're helping him up.”

CST testing continues today. Once again, remember to do your best. You are all great students. Take a deep breath, relax, and show what you know!

Teachers, also remember that all electronic devices must be off during testing. This includes classroom computers, teacher laptops, iPods, and cell phones. Also, students that arrive after 8:30 will not come to your classroom until after testing is complete. They will go to the library.

Tomorrow is RSU Friday. We will be meeting in the Character Counts Quad to celebrate the Rock Springs community. I hope to see you all there in your school colors!

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
