Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, March 7, 2013. The forecast calls for cloudy skies with a chance of rain and high of around 57 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Ms. Roberts / Ms. Martinez's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Riley's class for the pledge.

On this Day in History:

"Mr. Watson, come here, I need you". On this day in 1876, 29-year-old Alexander Graham Bell receives a patent for his revolutionary new invention--the telephone. "Mr. Watson, come here, I need you" were the first words to ever be spoken into a telephone.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

There are more living organisms on the skin of a single human being than there are human beings on the surface of the earth.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the colors yellow or gold. Remember to think "the Golden Rule".

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Integrity
Do the right thing. Spike Lee used these words as a title for one of his movies. When faced with a choice today, listen to your conscience. You know what’s right. Do it.
According to Chinese philosopher, Confucius, "To see what is right and not to do it is cowardice."

Hearts for Huntington's

As of now we have sold 1,248 hearts. Friday is the VERY last day to return hearts and money.

General Announcements:

We would like to remind students about our before school procedures. There are not any supervisors on duty until 7:30. If you arrive before 7:30, you are to sit at the tables. You should not be running around, standing on tables, or doing any other activity. For your safety, you must stay seated at the table.

Running Club will be cancelled tomorrow. RSU Morning Assembly is cancelled for tomorrow.

PTA 80's Flashback Dance:

Whether you like Dancing in the Dark, Dancing with Myself, doing the Neutron Dance or The Safety Dance, Jump on over to the PTA 80's Flashback Dance tomorrow night at 6:00.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
