Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 120 of school on this Thursday, March 5, 2015. The forecast calls for sunny skies today, with high of about 75 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning I have a group of college bound Road-Runners from Kindergarten classes to lead us in the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Kindergarten class.

Announcements:

Today is...
Unique Names Day

On this Day in History:
On this day in 1963, the Hula-Hoop, a hip-swiveling toy that became a huge fad across America when it was first marketed by Wham-O in 1958, is patented by the company's co-founder, Arthur "Spud" Melin. An estimated 25 million Hula-Hoops were sold in its first four months of production alone.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:
Spit can freeze in midair at the North Pole.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:
The Pillar of the Week is Respect, our second Pillar of Character, represented by the color yellow or gold. When you think about respect, think "The Golden Rule".

A respectful person is an attentive listener, treats others with consideration, and doesn't resort to intimidation. A respectful person also accepts individual differences and beliefs without prejudice and judges others only on their character, abilities and conduct.

Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!

Hearts for Huntington's
This is the last week to return your hearts and money for the Hearts for Huntington's campaign. We are hopeful to sell 1,000 hearts by Friday.

Safety First!
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Remember to play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, remember to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
