Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, March 21, 2013. The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and high of around 66 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. McDowell's class to lead us with the pledge.

After break we will be joined by Mrs. Sylliaasen's class for the pledge.

Today is...

Officially the National Common Courtesy Day!

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1871, journalist Henry Morton Stanley begins his famous search through Africa for the missing British explorer Dr. David Livingstone. Seven months later, the expedition entered the African village of Ujiji, found Dr. Livingston, and Mr. Stanley said the now famous words, "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?"

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

20/20 vision means the eye can see normally at 20 feet.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, our fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the orange. Remember to think of dividing an orange into equal sections to share fairly with friends.

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Listening
Today, stop what you are doing and take five minutes to listen to the feelings behind someone’s words to you. Be fully present for the conversation and be interested in what the person is saying.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
