On this day in 1871, journalist Henry Morton Stanley begins his famous search through Africa for the missing British explorer Dr. David Livingstone. Seven months later, the expedition entered the African village of Ujiji, found Dr. Livingston, and Mr. Stanley said the now famous words, "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?"
