Good morning Rock Springs School.

Today is Thursday, March 16th, 2012.

This morning, we have 3 college bound roadrunners from ___________ to lead us with the pledge.

They are ...

  • students say their names
  • “Please stand...
  • Recite pledge

The forecast for today calls for a high of 65 with partly cloudy skies and a 40% chance of rain.

On this Day in History, in 1838, Henry Adams was born. Henry Adams was an American journalist, historian, academic and novelist. He was also the grandson of President John Quincy Adams, and great-grandson of President and Founding Father John Adams.

This is the Season of Nonviolence - The Word of the Day is Caring.

According to Peter McWilliams, “Nonviolence toward the self is caring for oneself. Self-love a crowning sense of self-worth... it is what the Greeks call reverence for the self.” Real caring in not just what we say, but what we do. Make a list of at least five ways that you can take better care of yourself. Practice at least one today.

It’s still pretty wet out there on the playground, so we are going to stay on blacktop only today. I’d like to remind all of our roadrunners be sure and play safely. Remember that when the bell rings at the end of recess, that means to line up. Our duty teachers have an important job of making sure that everyone safe. It is difficult for them to do that if we don’t have everyone following our safety rules. So please, listen closely, and line-up immediately when the bell rings at the end of recess.

Teachers, don’t forget about today’s optional workshops. Join Mrs. Zacharias at 1:30 to learn how to set-up your symbaloo page, and then we’ll have out iPod 101 training to learn about the new iPod Learning Labs at 2:15. Both take place in room 14.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,

“Keep a smile on your face because is will increase your face value!”
