Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, June 6, 2013. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of around 72 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Glaze's class to lead us with the pledge.

Announcements:

Today is...

Officially Drive-in Movie Day.

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1944, Supreme Allied Commander General Dwight D. Eisenhower gives the go-ahead for the largest amphibious military operation in history: Operation Overlord, code named D-Day, the Allied invasion of northern France.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

Chromophobia is the extreme fear of colors.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

It's Pillars of Character Week at RSU! Are you a TRRFCC (terrific) student? If you are, then you are demonstrating the Six Pillars of Character.
Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

All year we've been talking about the Pillars of Character. During our last few days of school I challenge you to do something each day that demonstrates the Pillar of the Day. The Pillar for today is Fairness, our fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange. When you think about fairness, think of dividing an orange into equal sections to share fairly with friends.

According to Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady, civil rights advocate, "It is not fair to ask of others what you are unwilling to do yourself."

Mrs. Baier would like to send a big thanks to everyone for bringing in plastic bottles and coins for our garden - tomorrow is the last day.

From Mrs. Stump; Let's get those library books turned in. We still have many student that have not turned in their library books.

Teachers: Just a reminder all grades and comments need to be entered into PowerSchool.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
