Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, February 7, 2013. The forecast calls for cloudy skies this morning becoming mostly sunny with a high of around 59 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Ms. Peters class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we will be joined by Mrs. Laquindanum's class for the pledge.

February 7th is officially, "Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1984, while in orbit 170 miles above Earth, Navy Captain Bruce McCandless becomes the first human being to fly untethered in space when he exits the U.S. space shuttle Challenger and maneuvers freely, using a bulky white rocket pack of his own design.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

A crocodile's tongue is attached to the roof of its mouth.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, the fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color Orange.

This is the Season of Non-violence:

Your word for the day is Appreciation
Louise Hay says, “Praise yourself as much as you can....the love in our lives begins with us....loving yourself will help heal this planet.” Write down 10 things that you appreciate about yourself. Read aloud what you have written.

From Mr. Plunkett: Running Club will be cancelled for tomorrow.

Tomorrow is RSU Friday. Remember to show your school spirit by wearing your RSU colors and we'll see you in the Character Counts Courtyard for our Friday Morning Assembly.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
