Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is day 116 of school on this Thursday, February 25, 2016. The forecast calls for sunny skies, with high of about 86 degrees.

This morning we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Sylliaasen's class to lead us with the pledge.

Next week we'll be joined by Ms. Nelson's class.

Today is...
National Chocolate-Covered Peanuts Day

On this Day in History
On this day in 1870, Hiram Rhoades Revels, a Republican from Natchez, Mississippi, is sworn into the U.S. Senate, becoming the first African American ever to sit in Congress.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today
The length of your foot is equal to the distance from your elbow to your wrist.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School
The Pillar of the Week is Trustworthiness, our first Pillar of Character, represented by the color blue. When you think about trustworthiness, think “true blue”.

Reliability and loyalty are qualities of a trustworthy person. A trustworthy person is loyal to their family, friends, and beliefs. They can also be relied upon to keep their promises.

According to a German Proverb, "Honesty makes you rich, but she works slowly."

4th Grade Week

Hearts for Huntington's
Thank you Rock Springs Roadrunners!
We have sold over 300 hearts for Huntington's! A special thank you to Mrs. McWilliams, Mrs. Gardner, and Mrs. Stump for supporting this great cause. Let's show we care!

Safety First!
  • Important: Beginning today, the playground swings are off limits and will remain off limits until further notice.
  • Remember to use the crosswalk.
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until the duty teacher says that you may get up.
  • At the end of the day, your teacher will walk you to your designated exit for parent pick-up. If your ride is not there, you need to wait, stay at the front of the school and wait patiently and quietly for your ride.
RSU Friday
Tomorrow is RSU Friday. Remember to wear your Rock Springs School colors and we'll see everyone in the Character Counts Quad for morning assembly.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!"
