Good Morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Monday, December 10, 2012. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of around 74 degrees.

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mr. Horstman's class to lead us with the pledge.

December 10th is officially, "Human Rights Day".

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1901, The first Nobel Prizes are awarded in Stockholm, Sweden, in the fields of physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, and peace.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

A large woodpecker can peck as fast as 20 times a second and up to 12,000 times a day.

Your Character Counts at Rock Springs School:

The Pillar of the Week is Fairness, the fourth Pillar of Character, represented by the color orange:
Fairness means to Play by the rules • Take turns and share • Be open-minded; listen to others • Don’t take advantage of others • Don’t blame others carelessly • Treat all people fairly.
According to an Egyptian proverb, “An onion shared with a friend tastes like roast lamb.”

The Can-Do Food drive starts today. Bring in those cans of food and other non-perishable items to help those in need!

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
