Good morning Rock Springs School!

Today is Thursday, August 30, 2012. The forecast calls for partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high of 91 degrees.

Pledge:

This morning, we have a group of college bound roadrunners from Mrs. Zacharias's first grade class to lead us with the pledge.

Announcements:

On this Day in History:

On this day in 1967, Thurgood Marshall becomes the first African American to be confirmed as a Supreme Court justice. He would remain on the Supreme Court for 24 years before retiring for health reasons, leaving a legacy of upholding the rights of the individual as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
And for those of you who remember the 80's. Today was the day that Christopher Cross's Pop hit, "Sailing" reached number one on the charts.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

The liver is the only organ able to regenerate itself completely.

Rock Springs School is a Character Counts School:

The Pillar of the Day is Responsibility. Do what you are supposed to do • Plan ahead • Persevere: keep on trying! • Always do your best • Use self-control • Be self-disciplined • Think before you act — consider the consequences • Be accountable for your words, actions, and attitudes • Set a good example for others.
As stated by Abraham Lincoln, 16th U.S. president, "You can’t escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today."

Teachers: Once again, please be sure your classroom and mini-lab computers are on everyday.

This concludes today’s announcements. Thank you college bound roadrunners, and remember,
“Keep a smile on your face, it will increase your face value!”
